How Many Podcasts Will You Listen to This Week?

Podcasting isn’t just about creating great content—it’s also about listening.

Whether you’re a podcast host, a regular guest or simply someone who enjoys learning something new, making time to listen to podcasts can be one of the most valuable habits you develop. Every episode offers the chance to discover a new idea, hear a different perspective or learn from someone else’s experiences.

For podcasters, listening is also one of the best ways to improve your own show. You’ll hear different interview styles, storytelling techniques, formats and ways of engaging an audience. You may even come across a simple idea that inspires your next episode or helps you solve a challenge you’ve been facing.

Podcasts also have a unique ability to help us switch off. Whether you’re walking the dog, travelling to work, relaxing in the garden or taking a long journey, they offer an opportunity to step away from screens and spend time listening instead. Sometimes you’ll finish an episode with pages of notes. Other times, you’ll simply feel more relaxed than when you pressed play.

This week, why not make a conscious effort to listen to a few more podcasts than usual? You could revisit a favourite show, discover a new creator or explore a topic you’ve never considered before. You never know where your next great idea, valuable connection or moment of inspiration might come from.

After all, every podcast begins with someone deciding they have a story worth sharing—and every great listener helps keep those stories alive.
